TOKYO BANYANA COOKIES JR TOKYO STATION STORE

Shop design for the first flagship store of TOKYO BANYANA COOKIES, the original character brand created from the beloved Tokyo souvenir “Tokyo Banana.”

The shop takes the theme of a playful “cookie factory” occupied by cats who are obsessed with Tokyo Banana, called Tokyo Banyana. Interior elements were crafted mainly in stainless steel to highlight the delicious cookies and colorful characters. The flooring, in a vivid yellow often seen in factories, was chosen to echo the brand’s continuity through color. Situated inside Tokyo Station, the design aims to balance both surprise and familiarity.

Although kiosk-sized, the shop generates a joyful experience by featuring fixtures that resemble cookies flowing on a conveyor belt from the back of the space. Visitors can discover cats stealing, chasing, and playing with cookies throughout. The compact environment was composed like a stage where the characters come to life, allowing the entire shop to be experienced as a single story.

Considering the bustling environment, the design also integrates elements visible from afar. A large monitor above the entrance functions as a bright sign displaying the logo, while occasionally showing animations of cookies falling and cats causing mischief. On the side walls, graphics guide visitors toward the entrance, creating moments of attraction both near and far.

By combining whimsical characters with the everyday motif of a factory, the shop creates a space where visitors can immerse themselves in the brand’s world. Small discoveries and playful details spark curiosity, offering an experience that conveys both wonder and warmth. Despite its modest scale, the shop stands as a new stage for telling the evolving story of the Tokyo Banyana.
